Frostbite or frostnip are injuries to the skin and its underlying tissues caused by long exposure to freezing temperatures. You can instantly tell that you have frostbite when your skin becomes cold and red before it starts to numb and turn pale. Common areas to get frostbite include:

Mild to moderate frostbite will make you numb and become sensitive to cold and pain, while severe frostbite can damage your tendons, joints, muscles, and bones.
