Dr. Latha Chirunomla, MD

Dr. Latha Chirunomula is originally from Connecticut, where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Norwalk Hospital/Yale University Network.

While she is well versed in traditional allopathic medicine, she also employs complementary alternative medicine methods whenever possible. For a variety of conditions (such as headaches, anxiety, GI intolerances, dizziness and so on)- she believes that the mind -body relationship is of the utmost importance. Focus on preventive care to aim for less pharmacological interventions (whenever safe and possible) is another driving goal of her patient partnerships.

Additionally, her clinical work experience in India and Trinidad, West Indies have contributed to a more global understanding of the cultural and social implications on a person’s health status. These aspects in her background enable her to work towards understanding her patients as whole people; with additional focus on lifestyle and nutrition, stress management and guided meditation, Dr. Chirunomula truly aims to work with her patients to achieve their health goals.

When she is out of the office, Dr. Chirunomula enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring hiking trails in Virginia and DC, and going on mini adventures with her family.
